I don't think we should compare the two, they are two diferent adaptations made by diferent people after all. Isn't there a rule saying that comparing the two games each other is a violation? Also, there's a reason why people often convert to SMBX2 due to Lunalua and the freedom to do anything really. Why are you mad about that SMBX2 not having original NPCs? Nowadays, there is customization like The Rip Lair's Powerup Pack and some other Lunalua stuff. Moral of the story: Don't compare SMBX2 with 1.4 (or 38A if im correct). You'cant convince the bigger half of people of SMBX (which use SMBX2) to convert to SMBX 1.4. Why are you, the dunce here, thinks that SMBX 1.4 is better than SMBX2? People love the games due to it being fun to make levels/playing others. You should rethink this again. Afterall, SMBX2 might be much worse than 38A or the other way around, but complaining that SMBX2 dosen't have the same features like SMBX 38A, Come on man. Not all people hate counterparts due to it being way different than theirs. It's your opinion afterall, and im not going to force you to "PlEaSe PlAy SmBx2 ItS WaY BeTteR ThAn 38A!1!!1!!" People have their own grain of salt. We should really stop this 38A vs Beta 5 stuff, its annoying. In my opinion SMBX 1.4 has been a very great improvement to 1.3 and it seems better than 2.0.
We have a bunch of NPCs, Star Coins, new options, special Super Mario World blocks that break and release an enemy or item (when near), baby Yoshis, and much more!

1.4.3 has been released for a while and 1.4.4 is on the way.
Look at this amazing SMBX 1.4.3 level! Try to re-create that in SMBX 2.0 WITHOUT LunaLUA.

I've worked with it a while now and it seems fun and innovative. I tried the 2.0 Beta 3 and I don't like the editor. We don't even have new NPCs, except for some beetles, stars, and whatever. 1.4.3 has a bunch new items (Mega Mushroom, Mini, Penguin Suit, Propeller Mushroom, SMB3 things) not like in SMBX 2.0.
I really love the legacy editor and the New Super Mario Bros. NPCs/items. I hope that SMBX 2.0 can take inspiration from 1.4.3 when it is a full release/out of beta.
